With more than one billion inhabitants, India has the world's largest number of poor people.

Poverty, overpopulation, pollution and inequality pose enormous challenges.
Marianists have served in India since 1980. They sponsor two parishes, three schools and four ministries that provide vocational skills and education for the poor in India.
The Marianists also provide formation training for young men interested in joining the Society of Mary: The scholasticate and aspirancy house are located in Bangalore; the novitiate is in Ranchi.
